Buzz Kill! All That Flickr Drama.

 

Been a busy, busy time! Which at times totally burned me out. But i needed to try and get the message out to those that needed it, that things would be OK. Being busy though, meant I couldn't tackle the busy time I had planned. I was hoping to shoot a little brand new intro and some new movie scenes on the new 'Cockbuster Video Store' sets. On the Anniversary of the 'Electric Pornstars - Star Whores '83'. On May 4th. And feature the Award-winning Sex Scene from that movie with myself and Chase Stone. But, the Flickr Drama took all my free time away online instead. I had to research and trial numerous alternatives to Flickr and report on them via the Sexiest Pornstars Blog.

This is also a good time for me to say I am not 'Anti Flickr' now. Anybody who knows me has seen me continue to use my Free 'Safe Flickr'. In-fact Some of my best friends are Flickr Pro members! ( Joke. ) I'm still enjoying it. And I'll urge any Free Flickr Members to use it still. We need to preserve and support the Flickr Community of Sexiest Pornstars sharing the most awesome photography there. And the legacy of the Sexiest Group on Flickr too. I plan on always uploading safe versions of my NSFW projects at Flickr and linking to them in the Flickr Descriptions. It's a great way to promote your work to an audience you worked hard to build up. While still being involved at Flickr and supporting our fellow members there

Serving It Up Hot! - The Not So Safe Version Hosted Everythere Else!

My many Blog Posts designed to help those that could not, or didn't want to go 'Pro'. As well as the permanent. Blog Page 'Here'. Was time well spent though I feel. And if I managed to help some people now or in the future find the best new homes for their work, who would have had to literally stop being Pornstars because they could not pay Flickr. I'm delighted to have done my bit.

Personally, I felt like I could not do this role as Sexiest Pornstars Group owner if I went Pro on Flickr myself. How can I preach about an alternative site being 'Almost as good as Flickr'. While I enjoy my Flickr Pro? If I'm telling people you can still be a top Pornstar and operate in this new way. Then I am putting my money where my mouth is. ( And not with Flickr Pro! ) Talking the talk, and walking the walk! I am in it with those guys. We're finding new ways, new sites, and new experiences. DeviantArt + Slushe.  For example, I'm saying these two combined pretty much = Your old Flickr Experience. Not as simple as all under one roof at Flickr. But when you factor in the complete 'New Way' of going about being a Sexiest Pornstar. I think you start to feel you're getting as much out of it as you ever have. If not more. Because the future has so many new possibilities.

With the new Sexiest Photo group and Blog Galleries featuring the H.A.M and T.T and 'Milder' sexual imagery at DeviantArt along with the great social side there, plus new audiences gained, combined with the exceptional photo displays and ability to host 'Explicit' content at Slushe. It's a perfect pairing to pretty much replace your previous Flickr Experience. Like we had 'Before the dark times..Before the Pay Wall'.

I'm also embarking on an overhaul of the Sexiest Pornstars 'Discord' Server. So it can play its part as a Flickr Alternative. The Discord Chat Rooms and Sexiest Server there was created due to Second Life group Chat Glitches affecting our members' enjoyment. But now it has the potential to play a dual role and help people share their work on another platform.

Along with Twitter. These are more than just replacements or alternatives to Flickr Pro. They are a new way of 'Sexiest Pornstars' Life. As I called it on The Sexiest Blog at times. Twitter is 'The New World' For Us Pornstars. New opportunities and a vast new Audience. A place where Real World Porn Stars thrive. So why shouldn't we? It's perfect for sharing Photographs, Movie Clips. Sharing content as is, designed for Twitter, or using 'Tweets' to promote your body of work elsewhere. With Promo Video clips or the first photo in a set etc. Then link to your Blog or another hosting service. Twitter is as important to Flickr Pro members as it is to those without. I firmly believe we are going to see a new elite class of Pornstar emerge on Twitter or the other alternatives. And it'll all be down to some asshole making a dumb discision at Flickr!

As far as I'm concerned my Porn stuff is out there, getting seen and I'm having fun. Business as usual. Or better than usual, with the new horizons that have opened up as a result. I have my Blog Page, the end result of all my alternative Flickr research. So, I can refer those affected by Flickr Pro to it. And I'm happy to help anybody who wants to know more or needs any advice on Flickr alternatives too. IM me In-World 'Serenity Kristan'. ( Or drop me a NC. As i get Capped! ) But, i am still 100% behind all the Pornstars with Flickr Pro. Of course i had to make a lot of noise and promote those alternatives. You have to to get the messages across to those that need to hear it. I still have to going forward. There are always people who missed it the last time you promoted.

Although i was unable to do much on the Porn Dolls project side due to all that Flickr stuff. I have been able to plan and do a few things. I am delighted to see the Porn Dolls studio grow. One new member especially i'm so happy to welcome is my friend Rachel Swallows. Who is not only a impeccable Porn Doll if i ever saw one! But also a brilliant content creator of all kinds, wether it's for her 'Core' store, her blogging, or as a Photographer. I can't call her an honoary Porn Doll really. As we're the ones honoured to have her!

I have had time to build a brand new 'Cockbuster Video Store' Movie Set! I find this so relaxing and fun to do. I also have decided on my next Porn Movie Project. Although i scrapped my mini movie for May 4th. Due to the Flickr crisis! I am busy planning a new Electric Pornstars 80s movie. Which should feature plenty of Porn Dolls. In a fun, and sexy plot as usual. With some hot sex too of course. If this project moves along as i hope. It will deliver ongoing content while keeping me involved with it for the rest of the year. I planned it and even built test sets over 2 years ago now. I have been so excited about it for so long. Now is the perfect time to make it. Because i have the perfect actresses in my Porn Dolls Group.

Now that the Flickr stuff is calming down. I've been enjoying modeling, and was wowed by the work of Vaughan Quan when i posed for him recently. I cannot wait to get back for more! My Flickr Rant! - "No I Won't F*cking Hold!"

Having spent over a month working hard to try and provide some alternatives for Flickr for my Sexiest Pornstars Members (And Porn Dolls too.). Hunting for some continuity and consistency in potential new hosting sites, and above all trying to always help Sexiest Pornstars Members not wishing to, or unable to pay to 'Go Pro' on Flickr. I have barely had time to think or form opinions on what they are doing. I just had to find a quality, suitable new home for members' work, my own work, and a new home for The Sexiest Photo group. Which is now Free to join and contribute to at DeviantArt! These were my priorities. I feel happy i have found and adopted several options that can help all of our Non-Flickr Pro Members.

 

I was determined not to let Flickr create two classes of Pornstar. I also worked to ensure the future of The Sexiest Photo Group for 'All'. As it was created for. The Photo group, The Blog, and The In-World Group have all been intertwined since the beginning. It was a cornerstone of The Pornstars, and is for The Sexiest Pornstars today. 

 

Now i'm sitting back after doing all that and i'm pretty unhappy with Flickr. I'm a Porn producer in Second Life. But of course like many of you, i am a Porn Fan and a porn consumer in the wider on-line world too. I'm very familiar with the concept of pay to view porn. Seeing the options to buy memberships to a favourite Porn Star's web site. Or on Twitter seeing the subscription prices for 'OnlyFans' to get more intimate with the Porn Star of your choosing. But to have to pay to have your Porn work be seen by the public? 'Going Pro' to provide a web site with content they can attract an audience with? That's crazy to me! And pretty insulting. 

 

I have a following of around 3,000 on Flickr. I'm sure i'm not alone in getting those empty Flickr Stream Followers who never upload, or create, they just want to browse and see yours and others naughty pics. We all must have had hundreds of them visit our streams and follow us over the years. They are moving around Flickr generating revenue for them via the advertising. We are providing the Porn Content for them to see. Which was ok, when we were not being charged for the privelidge. But now we are. Flickr Pro Members now pay Flickr for that privelidge. I guess it was worth alienating a few of us who were not going Pro in order to do so. 

 

If times are hard and they 'Need' to generate more funds. Be honest don't pretend this enforced payment to share your work is making the site better. We're talking people who have generated revenue for their site for over a decade, where's the loyalty? I'm sure we'd have put up with more ads thrown at us, quantity caps on uploads per week, 500 images rather than 1,000. Anything in between "Pay us or stop what you're doing completely." Would have been nice. With these new TOS applying to 'New Members' only maybe? Lesser restrictions for long time, loyal users like us. Who entertained the masses at their Flickr site for years and years could have operated under a less drastic restriction. 

 

I'm also probably not alone in Flickr setting my account to 'Moderate'. Which means the mininum safety level i can upload a Photo with is 'Moderate'. I am not allowed to Upload 'Moderate' images now. So my account is unusable. Unless i pay? I have written to Flickr to resolve this. But i'm not holding my breath. I'd like to continue to use the site with 'Safe' images. But at the moment they are holding my account to ransom. 

 

I won't go Pro. I'm the Co-Owner of a group of over 3,000 plus, many of them content producers or Photographers who cannot, or maybe won't pay. I'm anxious that none of them feel second class Pornstars. As a result of this sharing ban. So i'm staying within their ranks and i'm operating with them out of alternative homes for our work.

 

I've found some fantastic sites as alternatives to Flickr. If function, and image quality, is your priority. Then we have homes even better than Flickr. And if you can live without paying Flickr for the convenience, familiarity, or for holding onto your following and 'likes'. Then i can reassure you there is life after Flickr. as a Non Flickr Pro Pornstar.
