The Future Past? - Serenity ♥♥♥'s Duran Duran

Yes, i'm an Eighties girl. A happy, Duran Duran loving Cougar Porn Star! Now I've officially loved Duran Duran for an unbelievable 40 years! Those that have visited my home will have seen my living room is even decorated and colour coded to match Patrick Nagel's Art work which adorned the bands iconic Rio Album cover in 1982! ( As seen in the above image. ). A little known fact maybe about me. For those that knew me from my Black hair days. The inspiration for my early Serenity look was maybe 80% Rio cover girl, and 20% Marilyn Monroe! Look at the album closely next time. You'll likely see some old school Serenity!

Today Duran Duran celebrate the 40th Anniversary of their first album, with the release of their newest. Future Past. This week i found myself thinking so much about the 1980's, buying that first album, having posters on my wall. Huge crushes on Simon Le Bon and Nick Rhodes. ( Love them Still! ). Generally i've just been astounded that 4 decades have past! Because I still feel the same in so many ways as when i bought that first album. I'm very happy and proud of that.

I have felt every emotion waiting for and eventually listening to Future Past today though. It evoked joy, happiness, nostalgia, and tears of both kinds! So, i went and made a pair photo's to represent as many of these feelings as i could. With contrasting mood and tones.

The 80's were such exciting, and vibrant times. With New Romantic's like Duran Duran. Amazing outfits and make up, and guys wearing even more make up than the girls! When it comes to fun, and creative expression, gloss, glamour, and art. I think we've taken a step backwards today. Things have got a little more repressed in how we look especially, a lot less colour, expression, and vibrance. Thank god for Second Life! I can make it the 80's there all the time! Colour, excitement, freedom, and people showing who and what they are. It's very 1980's.

I could mourn a Future that's Past. Or keep those 80's feelings alive and well forever. I miss that colourful, bright, futuristic, exciting decade. But I intend to keep it alive, for as long as i can. The 1980's is a state of mind!
